Brikama bridge gap on leaders, Wallidan make it three on the spin

Brikama United midfield maestro Lamin Balajo scored a last gasp winner in the 89th against City Boys, Banjul United, to help the Satayba side close on the gap at the summit of the League table to 7 points while Wallidan needed an 86-minute goal to record their third straight win in the Gambia Football Federation Division One League.

The late winner saw the team from the West Coast Region capital complete the double over one of the less illustrious of the Banjul teams in the league. Lamin Balajo goal’s erupted some wild celebration to the delight of the Satayba fans when his thumping effort was all but enough to seal victory.

Elsewhere, Ebrima Jagne left it late to give the Blue Boys, Wallidan, a 1-0 win over Gamtel FC. Jagne's goal has pulled Wallidan away from the danger zone for now while sinking the telecommunications giants to the bottom of the GFF 14 league table.

Marimoo FC held high-flying Waa Banjul to a barren draw. The 0-0 result meant Marimoo FC are just a place from the bottom of the table.

Buffer Zone side Tallinding United also shared the spoils with Hawks FC in a cagey goalless draw.

The League's leading goal scorer, Saikou Ceesay registered his name twice on the score sheet as Gambia Armed Forces triumphed 2-0 against relegation threatened BK Milan.

Fortune's Ebrima Camara alias Bura rose above Real de Banjul defenders to score a bullet header to cancel out Cherno Jobe's first-half goal from a setpiece corner for Real. Fortune FC were on the brink of conceding their first defeat before Bura restored parity.

Elite United won the bragging rights over Gambia Ports Authority by winning 1-0 in the latest all Banjul affairs.
