Brikama United close gap on league leaders in Ramadan-inspired lively night kickoffs

Brikama United closed the gap on league leaders Fortune to six points at the summit of the Gambia Football Federation Division 1 table thanks to a cruising 4-2 win over the Gambia Armed Forces in matchweek 15.
The Satayba boys thumped the soldiers 4-2 in a six goal thriller to avenge their first-round 3-2 loss against the khaki boys.
Modou Lamin Nyassi, the Brikama United gaffer said his team intend to win more matches to put pressure on the league leaders Fortune. Brikama has won their last five matches in the division.
"First we want to maintain our consistency. Now we are making a record and history by winning five matches in a row it is a record by now. It is important because we want to close the gap before Fortune play to six points and that will mount pressure on Fortune and will see what will happen. "
The newly winner of the Gambia Coaches Association Coach of the month award, Modou Lamin Nyassi, explained to journalists in the post-match interview that his team struggled at the start of the season was due to the inexperienced players they added at the start of the season.
"We have a slow start and the reasons why we had a slow start is we have young players from the third division and Nawettan. So, it will take us some time before they gel but once they jell results will come and I think this is happening right now. " Nyassi said.
Elsewhere, Elite United has come from a goal down to beat Real de Banjul 2-1 and climbed up to 4th in the league table standings.
Tallinding United recorded their first win of the season thanks to Muhammed Sawaneh's delightful freekick that earned the Buffer Zone boys a 1-0 win over Waa Banjul.
Buba Jammeh, scored his 5th goal of the campaign as B K Milan triumph 1-0 against the telecommunications giants Gamtel.
Meanwhile, matches continue today. Fortune the league leaders will lock horns with Hawks.
Banjul United will play against the ferry boys, Gambia Port Authority.
