Former Brikama United football club forward Saikouba Ceesay scored a sensational brace to help the Gambia Armed Forces (khaki boys) to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Tallinding United.

Saikouba's double pushed the Tallinding outfit deeper into the delegation zone while propelling the Armed Forces to second and five points closer to runaway leaders, Jane Joof's Fortune Football Club.

The Gambia U-23 forward, Saikouba, twist and turned in between Tallinding United defenders before unleashing a powerful low drive with his weaker left foot which beat Tallinding's keeper in the 9th minute. Saikouba Ceesay went to add another just 28 seconds from the restart.

The Gambia Armed Forces coach, Ebrima Jatta alias Giggs has played downed his team’s chances of winning the league despite sitting second on the table and just five points adrift of the league leaders.

"It is a great win today, but I set myself as one of three teams that will be in the title race. I will fight to be among those three teams that will be fighting for the league. But on the way if we can win the league so be it." Ebrima Gibba GAF coach told Gambia Sports in a post-match interview.

The "Buffer zone" boys Tallinding United are without a win since the commencement of the GFF Division one. They have so far drawn six and lost three out of their nine matches.

Sanna Darboe, the Tallinding United Head Coach pleaded for a strong mentality if his team should overturn their dreadful form

"We have to have a strong mentality to make sure to turn things around together. If you check the statistics definitely is alarming but we will come up because it is a marathon league and Tallingding is here to compete." Sanna said.

The petroleum boys Fortune are comfortably sitting at the top of the table with 21 points. Below them are the khaki boys GAF with 16 points. Usual title suspects Real De Banjul are lurking around in third position with 15 points while city rivals Gambia Ports Authority sit just a place and a point behind them.
