The Gambia U-23 star has set the league ablaze in his makeshift position as a centre forward for Armed Forces. Fresh from scoring a brace against Tallinding United, Ceesay scored a treble against his former team to increase his goal tally to 8.

The Armed Forces wing wizard is dreaming of breaking the record for the most goals scored in a season.

Former Gambia Ports Authority goal poacher, Modou Njie Sarr and Mustapha Drammeh hold the record with 15 goals in a season. Mustapha was the last to reach that milestone in the 2016/2017 season. Saikouba Ceesay is buoyant of breaking the duos record goal tally.

"I am trying to break the record for the number of goals an individual score in the league. I think the record is 15 goals, so I challenge myself to break that record and I am 100 per cent sure I can do it, I trust myself." A joyous Saikouba told Gambia Sports.

Those who can recognise the joyful sense of Saikouba will know the aesthetical pleasure he provides in the field of play. He is an incredible footballer, elegant in his movements with quick explosive runs and excellent shooting abilities with both feet.  He can play as the focal point of an attack and at the same time links up with others to give them a solution in midfield when they are pressed.

The Gambia Armed Forces are three points adrift of the league leaders, Fortune Football Club. Saikouba Ceesay is confident that with their current form, Gambia Armed Forces can clinch the Gambia Football Federation Division 1 trophy. "In Sha Allah, that's the team’s target. We are eying the trophy, we can do it and we will do it." Saikouba enthused.

Now that they are breathing down the necks of Fortune Football Club, whose lead at the top has been narrowed down to three points after they stumbled to a 1-1 draw against BK Milan over the weekend.
