Matarr Manga's 90+2-minute goal helped the side dubbed the telecommunications giants, Gamtel, to come from a goal down to beat Brikama United Football Club 2-1 in Gambia’s elite football league - the GFF Division One.

The "Satayba" boys’ lackluster start to the season continued as they lost to Gamtel despite taking an early lead in the 12th minute when Papis Nyassi flicked in Sering Camara's outswinging cross.

Gamtel's Kalifa Kanyi ensured there was parity with his well-taking goal in the 18th minute before second-half substitute Matarr Manga left it late to snatch a victory for the telecommunications giants.

Jim Kebbeh the head coach of Gamtel told the press in a post-match interview that, his team capitalised on Brikama's slow start to win.

"Brikama is a team that came with their morals down because in their last game they got humiliated. And I heard that some of their players were suspended." he stated.

Kebbeh went on to add: "they came with a defensive formation, for them they contended with a draw and then our tactics is to come and collect the three points, but we took a bad goal and then we equalise."

The assistant coach of the Satayba boys, Sarjo Sanyang enthused that they set up the team to win against Gamtel but could not produce the desired win. "It’s football we lost the game, but we were not expecting to lose this one. Because really, we came all out to see that we win this game. The only thing is we are down, but I think it will come. It is football, it is part of it, and we take it in good faith."

Gamtel’s win over the Satayba boys has catapulted them to 4th in the league standings while Brikama United dropped to 9th in the table.
